Memories of a Dive plunges audiences into the exhilarating world of underwater exploration. Journey into the Andaman Sea and experience the beauty, thrill, and camaraderie of a real scuba adventure. As the divers recall their memories, the secret joys and life-changing wonder of exploring the ocean’s depths come to light.
You’ll encounter sea turtles, lionfish, clownfish, and swirling barracuda as coral gardens bloom in every hue around you. Set to a moving orchestral score, this immersive dome experience captures the wonder, fragility, and transformative power of exploring Earth’s oceans.
Director's Statement

Submerging oneself underwater for long periods of time is an experience I will never tire of. I could be in the middle of an underwater desert surrounded by nothing but sand, water and the Sun and be transfixed with the indescribable beauty all around. With each focused breath in and out… in and out… I feel my mind melting away the illusions I cling to about self, importance and the indescribable feelings of being alive. Down there, I am just another water creature bobbing along in the currents of our Earth, no more or less important or valuable.

I hope this film can create a glimmer of these deep feelings to remind other scuba divers and offer the opportunity to those who have never been submerged to be just another water creature exploring the currents.
Filming the Underwater World in 360°

We used Insta360 cameras to capture the 360 footage and a DJI Mavic drone we could attach these cameras to. We then converted the footage to be fulldome format going shot by shot to ensure the main subjects were where we wanted them to be. Using Adobe Premiere for editing and Davinci Resolve for all finishing VFX, color and sound, we have an experience that offers a look into the thoughts and musings of a scuba diver. Creating Dome and VR Versions in Multiple Lengths
We developed both a fulldome version for festivals, planetariums, and other events as well as a version made for a VR headset. Each version comes in a 20-minute cut and a 9-minute cut, giving programmers and distributors flexibility depending on audience needs and event formats.
